Hosted by the non-profit Sudbury Historical Society (SHS) this lecture teaches attendees about the first 50 years of Sudbury’s settlement, and the tensions this created with the Indigenous people who lived on the land. We take a look at the broader context of how New England came to thrive versus the other colonies, and how this happened through the Puritan ethos of hard work, piety, and community. The course will consist of a lecture and a tour of the Sudbury Historical Society’s History Center and Museum.
Rachael is the Director of the Sudbury History Society.
