This course is a guided walking tour of the history of the Saxonville area in Framingham from pre-European native peoples through immigration of people from Europe through the 1970's. Attendees will learn of the native peoples' use of the river and the falls and they will see the site of their village. They will learn about mill operations and what working for the mill was like. The currents of history will become clear in understanding how the mill village operated. Participants will be walking approximately 1.5 miles on some uneven surfaces.
Paul's family and ancestors worked in the mill. He lived near the mill as a youngster and spent many hours on the river, in the village and hearing of the mill experiences of his ancestors and neighbors.
Paul has a passion for American history.
