Cold-Process Soap - Two Part Class
Calling all Soapers!! Make your own cold-process soap. This is a "hands-on” class. You will learn the basics about cold process soapmaking. Each participant will choose from a variety of scents and additives (all natural) to create a high-quality, long-lasting soap. This class will provide you with all the knowledge and skills needed to craft your own soap. DAY 1: 6:30-8:00; DAY 2: 6:30-6:45On Day 1 you will make your soap with your choice of scents (Lavender, Lavender Peppermint, Peppermint, Tea Tree, citrus or no scent) and your choice of additives (GF oatmeal, red clay, coffee grounds=kitchen soap or no additive). On Day 2, you will unmold your soap and cut it into bars.All materials and worksheets will be provided. Please do not wear your best clothing. An apron and/or an old shirt will be the best option. Please let the instructor know if you have any skin allergies or allergies to essential oils. Women in their first trimester of pregnancy should not take this class.Handmade soaps are an excellent gift or an awesome gift to yourself!

Healthy Feet for Active People Exercise Workshop

This exercise class is a follow-up to the Healthy Feet for Active Presentation on May 1. Learn how bad posture habits may contribute to your foot issues and get special postural exercises to improve your feet and your body alignment. As an additional bonus, you may even become more upright! Bring a yoga mat and a large bath towel. Exercises are done barefoot, socks are optional.

Would you like to have and maintain healthy and functional feet? Be able to walk your 10K steps a day without hurting yourself? Explore the benefits of barefoot shoes and sandals and how to switch to healthier footwear safely? Especially in Spring, when we want to get our feet ready for summer sandals and all the new warm weather surfaces that we walk on. This presentation will explore where all the foot issues start and what you can do about it. You will learn how bad posture habits may contribute to your foot issues and understand how special postural exercises can improve your feet and body alignment. An exercise class will be offered the week after this presentation. A separate registration for this is required.

Mah Jongg: Basic to Intermediate

This class is meant to extend the knowledge of the game for Beginners who've learned how to play recently, or who've played before and remember the basics, and want to take their game up to the next level. In our 4 sessions together, you will learn techniques for picking hands throughout the game (during passing, early game, late game), playing defensively, switching hands, joker bait strategies, and how to score games, among other tips and tricks. Mah Jongg: Introduction - Learn to Play

Mah Jongg is a tile-based game that was developed in the 19th century in China and has spread throughout the world. It is a fun game of strategy, quick thinking, and luck, relatively easy to learn, and rewarding to play for years to come. In our 4 sessions together, you will learn the tiles, the hands, the card, and the basics of how to deal, pass, and play the game. This course is geared towards teaching newcomers or those that need a refresher on the basics. We'll start with the basic strokes and footwork and move onto more advanced strategy and drills. Once you've mastered the techniques, the real fun comes as you build proficiency and find ways to out-think your opponent. All equipment is provided! Please wear sneakers and comfortable clothing.

Please bring your racquet, wear comfortable running/tennis shoes, and bring your own water. In case of rain, another day will be added. The benefits of tennis include a fantastic workout and complete release from stress. Tennis stretches your intellectual capacity and imagination while strengthening your bones and muscles. We offer one class for kids ages 8+ and two classes for adults, "Beginner" and "All Levels".
