Celebrate the cozy charm of autumn in this fun and creative Fall Candle Making Workshop! In this hands-on class, guests will learn the basics of candle making while creating their own custom fall-inspired candle. Participants will prepare candle containers with wicks, blend seasonal fragrances such as pumpkin spice, apple cider, cinnamon, and vanilla, and work with colorful wax to create decorative accents like pumpkins, fall leaves and many more using silicone molds. Once the scented candle wax is poured, students will unmold and arrange their handmade decorations to design a beautiful finished candle perfect for fall décor or gifting. This beginner-friendly workshop is a relaxing and engaging experience with all materials and supplies included.

Create 5 beautiful A2 cards (4.25 x 5.5 inches) with envelopes. A card making kit with all of the supplies needed will be ready for pick-up at L-S one week before the online class. Card-making instruction will be on Zoom. Enjoy making cards at home that you can share with loved ones and friends. The Zoom meeting will be recorded if you cannot attend at the class time.

Discover the beautiful Ukrainian art of Pysanky in this beginner-friendly workshop led by a native Ukrainian artist. Participants will learn about the history, symbolism, and traditions behind these intricate decorated eggs while creating their own Pysanky using the traditional wax-resist method. Using a real chicken egg, beeswax, candle, “kistka” tool, and vibrant dyes, participants will be guided step-by-step through the process of designing and decorating their eggs. No previous experience is necessary. Emptied and cleaned chicken eggs, dyes, and all materials will be provided. By the end of the workshop, each participant will complete one or two unique pysanky eggs while gaining a deeper appreciation for this cherished Ukrainian folk art tradition. Children ages 6+ are welcome when accompanied by an adult.

The digital camera has revolutionized photography. This course is for the beginning photographer with a digital SLR or mirrorless camera. My goal is to help you develop your photographic vision by teaching you how to go beyond automatic settings on your camera. We will learn how aperture, shutter speed and ISO can be manipulated to yield creative images. We will learn about RAW vs. JPEG images, white balance, depth of field, and exposure. Hands-on exercises on exposure metering and autofocus will give you a better understanding of your camera's capabilities. As you learn to take control of your camera, we will discuss the basics of composition and how to express your vision. We will also explore how to display your images through print and digital medium. The course will consist of handouts, didactic presentations, and individualized opportunities to practice with your camera in the classroom. We will plan one or two optional field trips on weekends (or weekdays if you prefer) to put into practice what we have learned in the classroom. Weekly assignments will be submitted via the Internet prior to each class so we can critique our images as a group. The course is for four weeks and is limited to 8 individuals to maximize interaction with the instructor and other members of the class. Course requirements include a digital SLR or mirrorless camera, access to the Internet, Adobe Acrobat Reader (a free program), and enthusiasm. Optional accessories include a tripod, polarizing filter, and shutter release cable.

Create a beautiful handmade Pysanka and transform it into a festive holiday ornament in this family-friendly workshop. Participants will learn the traditional Ukrainian wax-resist method using real chicken eggs, beeswax, a “kistka” tool, candles, and colorful dyes to create unique designs and patterns. During the workshop, participants will also learn several options for turning their finished pysanka into a hanging ornament perfect for holiday decorating or gifting. This class is suitable for beginners, families, and anyone looking for a cozy seasonal creative experience together. All materials are included.

WHEAT STRAW DECORATION This workshop offers a festive and creative experience for all. You will learn how to create beautiful wheat straw snowflake decorations, perfect for Christmas trees, window ornaments, Christmas cards, or gifts. Each participant will take home a set of 3-6 wheat straw snowflakes. Materials included: -wheat straw - colored and natural colors -straw splitters -star mold sets -threads -needle -scissors -glue -beads -paper bags -examples and paper materials such as photos and instructions

Working in sterling silver, students will be trained in sawing, filing, soldering and developing their skills through various projects involving fabricating, stone setting, fusing, Keum-boo, chasing and repousse and a variety of techniques as time and experience allow. Materials fee based on the cost of the chosen project will be payable to the instructor (typical cost is approximately $100).

Come learn how to make one of these gorgeous fresh flower centerpieces and take it home to use for yourself or give as a gift! All materials included.

Join us for a 2-hour Watercolor Workshop designed for beginners or those who are curious about watercolor art. Trisha Shaw creates a fun environment for participants to play with brushes and paint and shares some of her own experience and opinions about this medium. All necessary materials are provided. Participants will go home with a 5x7 painting that they have created, as well as a suggested list of materials for those who would like to further pursue watercolor as an interest. This is a no-pressure, social environment, and questions are encouraged!
