New members who either already play an instrument, or are returning to a previous instrument, can join at any time. New members please contact Diane before registering. Don’t just LISTEN to the music, PLAY!! You, too, can be part of an adult concert band or string ensemble and experience the joy of making instrumental music with others. Haven’t played your trumpet (flute, clarinet, violin, cello…) in 30 years? We have some members who came back to their instruments after 50 and 60 and even 70 years of not playing! Never played an instrument and have no clue what those little black marks are on the paper? We’ll teach you (see our beginner program description below). It is never too late, and your best is always good enough! Our members range in age from 20-something to 90-something, and from beginner/novice to quite advanced in playing ability — all are welcome! A place where your personal best is always good enough, Sudbury Valley New Horizons Music is an organization for all adults, no matter the skill level, who love music and want to be involved in playing music with others in a relaxed, non-competitive environment. For more information, visit our website, www.svnhm.org, or call Diane Muffitt, 978-261-5065. (New members please contact Diane before registering.) Rehearsals & classes are Wednesday evenings, 6:30-8:15 PM, at Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School. Our Fall 2023 session runs from September 27 – December 13, 2023. New members are welcome to join anytime. LEARN TO PLAY A BAND OR ORCHESTRA INSTRUMENT Sudbury Valley New Horizons Music: Beginner Program Did you ever listen to a concert and wish you could play a band or orchestra instrument? Well, now is YOUR chance to learn! No clue what those little black marks are on the paper? We’ll teach you. This class is for adults who want to learn how to play a band or string instrument (flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, percussion, violin, viola, cello, bass). It is never too late. Our members range in age from 20-something to 90-something, and over half started their instruments as adults! For beginners, the first forty-five minutes of the evening is a group lesson (band and strings are in different rooms with different teachers) and then the rest of the time you will sit in with our band or string ensemble and listen, watch, absorb and, in a few weeks, play along on one piece! Visit our website, www.svnhm.org, or call Diane Muffitt, 978-261-5065, for more information, help deciding on an instrument, and assurance that yes, YOU CAN DO IT!
