WHEAT STRAW DECORATION This workshop offers a festive and creative experience for all. You will learn how to create beautiful wheat straw snowflake decorations, perfect for Christmas trees, window ornaments, Christmas cards, or gifts. Each participant will take home a set of 3-6 wheat straw snowflakes.Materials included: -wheat straw - colored and natural colors -straw splitters -star mold sets -threads -needle -scissors -glue -beads -paper bags -examples and paper materials such as photos and instructions

Residential Addition 101
If you have been thinking of adding on to your house, but don’t know where to start, this one night class is for you! Nancy will give an overview of the design and construction process for residential additions and renovations. The class will review zoning and septic issues, programming, budgeting, whether to “move or stay”, the architectural process, contractor selection, permitting and what to expect during construction. Time will be allowed for questions about your specific project.

Cold-Process Soap - Two Part Class

Calling all Soapers!! Make your own cold-process soap. This is a "hands-on” class. You will learn the basics about cold process soapmaking. Each participant will choose from a variety of scents and additives (all natural) to create a high-quality, long-lasting soap. This class will provide you with all the knowledge and skills needed to craft your own soap. DAY 1: 6:30-8:00. DAY 2: 6:30-6:45 On day 1 you will make your soap with your choice of scents (Lavender, Lavender Peppermint, Peppermint, Tea Tree, citrus or no scent) and your choice of additives (GF oatmeal, red clay, coffee grounds=kitchen soap or no additive). On day 2, you will unmold your soap and cut it into bars. All materials and worksheets will be provided. Please do not wear your best clothing. An apron and/or an old shirt will be the best option. Please let the instructor know if you have any skin allergies or allergies to essential oils. Women in their first trimester of pregnancy should not take this class. Handmade soaps are an excellent gift or an awesome gift to yourself!

This American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) course covers CPR, AED, First Aid, Medical/Injury Emergencies, Allergies, Epipens and Asthma. Participants receive 2-year ASHI certification in Pediatric First Aid and Adult and Pediatric CPR and AED use. This class is suitable for day-care providers, grandparents, coaches, scout leaders and parents. Ages 12 and up. No discounts.

Polka Dot Pysanky Eggs - The Krapanky
Creative & Culinary Arts
The Krapanky - Polka Dot Egg workshop, where you'll be introduced to the traditional wax-resist method of coloring eggs, as we explore various tools and techniques to adorn eggs with wax dots. Using real chicken eggs, melted beeswax, and vibrant color dyes, participants will create stunning polka dot designs. Perfect for children as young as 5 years old, kids are encouraged to join accompanied by adults.

Private music lessons enable participants to grow musically at an individual pace, study advanced techniques on their instruments and begin to express themselves through improvisation. Lessons are given in 8-week sessions in your choice of format: in-person or online. Lessons take place after school, or weekday evenings. Before registering, please send us an email at adult.ed@lsrhs.net to determine the availability of the instructor. There is a $39 administrative fee per each 8-week session. A portion of the administrative fee will be donated to L-S Friends of Music. No Senior/Staff Discount. We offer private music lessons in: Cello, Clarinet, Drum set, Euphonium, Flute, Guitar, Marimba, Oboe, Percussion, Piano, Saxophone, Song Writing, String Bass, Trombone, Trumpet, Tuba, Viola, Violin, Voice. Rise & Shine Yoga with Kelly

Start your weekends off right with Rise & Shine Yoga. This ten-week, one-hour class combines yin-style stretching and vinyasa flow. The class guides you through smooth, safe movements purposefully designed to loosen up those tight muscles, melt away stress, and rejuvenate your body. Participants do not need prior yoga experience. Please bring your own mat. Yoga blocks are highly recommended and will be provided. This class takes place in-person with the option to join the class remotely.

In this 5-week course, students will learn and practice strategies to conquer the reading and language sections of the test. The final week will be a practice test. As students become more comfortable with each section of the SAT format, their confidence will increase and so will their scores!

The goal of this course is to practice the types of questions that will be asked on the SAT and practice test-taking strategies designed to raise students' scores. Students will learn about time management and the benefits of taking an educated guess. Last, students will review skills learned in prior or current math classes and the best way to approach the exam based on their individual skills. As students become more familiar with the test and practice test-taking strategies, their confidence and scores are sure to grow! Students MUST respond to the survey sent in the week prior to taking the course in order to incorporate appropriate practice problems in the class - their intended test-taking dates will inform the level of paper-based and/ or computer-based practice problems used in the class. Additionally, students should bring a computer to each class with the SAT Bluebook Application downloaded prior to the first class, and bring the graphing calculator they will use on test day.

A fun and very interactive online class for beginners who want to learn the basics of this beautiful and useful language. The 8-week class will include reading, listening, speaking, and grammar. It will be presented in an engaging way, using simple technology. Our goal at Fun World Language Academy is to help students on their journey to proficiency while also making learning interesting, in order to aid motivation for continued learning. Becoming bilingual at any age has many benefits for your brain, makes travel more rewarding, and increases awareness of different cultures. Don’t just LISTEN to the music, PLAY!! Join our adult concert band or string ensemble and experience the joy of making instrumental music with others. Haven’t played your trumpet (flute, clarinet, violin, cello…) in 30 years? We have some members who came back to their instruments after 50 and 60 and even 70 years! Never played an instrument? We’ll help you figure out how to get started, get connected with a teacher, and in a few weeks sit in with our group. It is never too late; over half of our members started their instruments as adults! Our members range in age from 20-something to 90-something, and from beginner/novice to quite advanced in playing ability — all are welcome! Sudbury Valley New Horizons Music is an organization for all adults, no matter the skill level, who love music and want to be involved in playing music with others in a relaxed, non-competitive environment. Tie Dye pysanky egg workshop, where you'll be introduced to the wax-resist method of decorating pysanky eggs, as well as explore various colors and their combination for the dyeing process. Understanding Town History for the Big 250! Concord!

Concord will welcome thousands of visitors in April 2025 for the 250th anniversary of the Shot Heard 'Round the World. Maybe your out-of-town family or friends will want to come and be part of the fun. Be ready to answer their questions like a pro (Did Paul Revere raise the alarm in Concord? Who shot first? Is this the original bridge?). Concord public historian Victor Curran will offer a one-night summary of his Concord History Course to give you all the talking points you need to tell Concord's stories like a native from its first indigenous people to its famous writers and antislavery activists, with a special emphasis on the town's vital role on the first day of the American Revolution. This will include time to answer your questions.

You'll hear the stories of amazing wildlife and culture from all over the world through video and photos. Suitable for families. CANCELLED: Tuesday November 19: The so called “Galapagos of the Africa” Madagascar has friendly people and wildlife found nowhere else, including chameleons and lemurs. Join us for a journey of fabulous photos and stories of this remote island off the coast of Africa Tuesday December 3: Uganda has traditional safari big five animals at the Nile headwaters as well as chimpanzees and gorillas. Join us for photos, videos and stories of treks to explore wildlife in Uganda. Tuesday January 14: The final frontier, the Southern Ocean and Antarctica! Penguins, whales, pelagic birds and floating icebergs create a magical environment to explore.
