Soap Making: Oatmeal Shea Butter
Calling all artisan soapers! Come make an amazing oatmeal shea butter soap from start to finish. This handmade soap is a wonderful gift, or a lovely treat for yourself. Participants can expect to leave with the skills and knowledge to craft their own soap, plus 10 fresh bars of soap to bring home! All materials and instructions provided. Please do not wear your best clothes. Please bring an apron as it may get messy. We use high-quality, therapeutic grade essential oils and products that are all-natural and free of additives. Please let the instructor know if you have any skin allergies. No discounts. LIMIT 8 per session.

Private Music Lessons - Winter
Private music lessons enable participants to grow musically at an individual pace, study advanced techniques on their instruments and begin to express themselves through improvisation. Lessons are given in 8-week sessions in your choice of format: in-person or online. Lessons take place after school, weekday evenings or Saturday mornings. Before registering, please send us an email at adult.ed@lsrhs.net to determine the availability of the instructor. There is a $30 administrative fee per 8-week session. A portion of the administrative fee will be donated to LS Friends of Music. No Senior/Staff Discount.We offer private music lessons in: Cello, Clarinet, Drum set, Euphonium, Flute, Guitar, Marimba, Oboe, Percussion, Piano, Saxophone, Song Writing, String Bass, Trombone, Trumpet, Tuba, Viola, Violin, Voice. Please see Mr. Grandprey to ask for financial assistance. Also, students currently enrolled at LSRHS may be able to take their private music lessons during their "free" block. Real estate investing can be lucrative if you know what you are doing, but it can also set you up for failure if you don’t. The trouble is that many new investors don’t know where or how to invest. Participants will learn how to find a property that can be an additional income stream and how to avoid getting into trouble with tenants. Along with learning how to buy an income-generating rental property in this competitive market, we will discuss MA laws that every landlord needs to know to protect themselves. We review proven tips on being a thoughtful and respected landlord and financing and property maintenance costs.

You will learn how to hire and find the right agent and be an advocate for yourself in the home buying process. Buying a home is likely to be one of the biggest investments you make in your lifetime, so it’s important to know what you’re getting into and how to prepare. The class will focus on the home buying process from beginning to end including your mortgage options, lawyer info and fees, the offer process and negotiating techniques, what you would expect to pay for closing costs, and what to look for at open houses.

You will learn how to hire and find the right agent, what’s necessary to fix or not fix before putting your house on the market, tips on home staging, how to price your home and different techniques to generate more interest and offers. The class will also focus on the home selling process from beginning to end including the offer process and negotiating techniques.

Kitchen Remodel Workshop

Have an idea for a kitchen remodel but need some insight? Local kitchen and bath designer Mary Regan will help you workshop your ideas. She’ll review your plans ahead of time, then help figure out next steps from lighting and cabinet types to countertop materials. Mary will share her ideas from her years of experience designing kitchens. Time will be allowed for questions about your specific project.

If you have been thinking of adding on to your house, but don’t know where to start, this one night class is for you! Nancy will give an overview of the design and construction process for residential additions and renovations. The class will review zoning and septic issues, programming, budgeting, whether to “move or stay”, the architectural process, contractor selection, permitting and what to expect during construction. Time will be allowed for questions about your specific project.
