    Charcuterie Tray Workshop: Creating a Colorful & Delicious Display

    Learn how to create a beautiful charcuterie tray that is perfect for any occasion! During this one-night, interactive class we will go over how to select and beautifully present the perfect combination of cheese, meat, and other flavor complements such as fruit, spreads, nuts, crackers, and dried fruit. You will watch a presentation and then make your own unique small tray (4-6 person) by practicing and selecting from different charcuterie food stations. $40 additional fee to be paid to Adrienne at the class includes all food along with a disposable tray for easy transportation home.   • Jewelry Basics: Lampwork Bead Valentine Earrings

    Lampwork beads are handmade by blowing and shaping molten glass over and through a torch, using tools and hand movements to form amazing and intricate designs. This glasswork technique is alive with mesmerizing colors and fascinating details. Beads produced in this fashion make excellent focal points in necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. Students will learn design basics, color selection, wire wrapping techniques, use of tools and finishing techniques - and take home a pair of new earrings for wearing or gifting! No discounts.

    Knitting: Mitered Squares for blankets and more

    Learn to knit mitered squares while making a lovely blanket. This is the perfect project for using yarns you may have in stash. Using scrap yarns (bring what you have), learn mitered squares and how to pick up stitches to join the squares.   • Not Your Average Paint Class: Gal/Guy/Pal/Valentine’s Day! – TikTok’s Canvas Swap Challenge

    Participants will pair up and take turns painting on each other’s canvas. Each person has 10 minutes to add to the painting. Once the 10 minutes are up, you’ll switch with your buddy and you’ll have another 10 minutes to add to each other’s paintings. The painting will constantly be changing, so you never know what it’s going to turn out like in the end! This challenge is a great fun activity to do with your significant other, best friend, sisters/brothers, roommate, it doesn’t matter so long as you have someone to swap with. If you’re stuck and cannot find someone, but still want to participate, sign up as an individual and we’ll pair you up with someone that night. This is a great way to meet new members of the community! No experience needed. All materials included!

    Private music lessons enable participants to grow musically at an individual pace, study advanced techniques on their instruments and begin to express themselves through improvisation. Lessons are given in 8-week sessions in your choice of format: in-person or online. Lessons take place after school, weekday evenings or Saturday mornings. A portion of the administrative fee will be donated to LS Friends of Music. No Senior/Staff Discount.     Calling all artisan soapers! Come make an amazing oatmeal shea butter soap from start to finish. This handmade soap is a wonderful gift, or a lovely treat for yourself. Participants can expect to leave with the skills and knowledge to craft their own soap, plus 10 fresh bars of soap to bring home! All materials and instructions provided.     Learn the tips and tricks and how to create professional-looking cookies! Make royal icing and learn several decorating techniques including flooding and wet on wet designs. Using sugar cookies baked ahead of time, or store bought, we'll create puffed designs, geometric patterns, and flowers. $10 additional fee to be paid to Adrienne at the class includes all decorating ingredients. This is a fun teenage and parent/child class too!
  • Ukrainian Christmas “Pavuk” Craft

    At this workshop, you will learn to create a beautiful wheat straw decoration - a Christmas “Pavuk” (Spider). It looks like a mobile with small diamond-shaped lanterns that due to air circulation, spin in different directions. This authentic Ukrainian craft is not just a decoration, but according to folk beliefs, a kind of model of the universe that attracts family happiness.
  • Ukrainian Egg Design: Let’s Make Pysanky

    This workshop will provide an opportunity for you to learn the art of Pysanky from a native Ukrainian, receive an abundance of information about the history, the meaning of the symbols, and create your own beautiful designs or Pysanka in the traditional wax-resist method using real chicken eggs, with a special instrument called a "kistka", beeswax, and color dyes. Participants will learn the process, history, and meaning of the colors and symbols of this Ukrainian art. Participants may choose to use a traditional Ukrainian pattern, or create one of your own. No previous experience is required. All materials are prepared in advance(blown-out eggs), and will be provided.
  • Understanding Your Digital SLR Camera

    Go beyond the automatic settings on your digital camera, and develop your photographic vision by learning how aperture, shutter speed and ISO can be manipulated to yield creative images. In four online Zoom classes, participants will learn about RAW vs. JPEG images, white balance, depth of field, and exposure. Included exercises on exposure metering and autofocus will give you a better understanding of your camera's capabilities. As you learn to take control of your camera, we will discuss the basics of composition and how to express your vision. We will also explore how to display your images through print and digital medium. Flash and macro photography will be discussed with an introduction to off-camera flash. Course requirements include a digital SLR (not mirrorless) camera.
