Mah Jongg Refresher
FOR THOSE WHO HAVE ALREADY TAKEN BEGINNER LESSONS AND/OR HAVE SOME PLAYING EXPERIENCEReady to build your confidence and get more comfortable at the table? Need a refresher before you play with a group? The Mah Jongg Refresher class is a structured session designed for players who have already learned Mah Jongg and hence, know the basics but want to build confidence and sharpen their skills. We’ll start with a brief review followed by guided play. This class is an accelerated review and not appropriate for players who are new to the game. We will cover the following:● Game Flow: Practicing proper game pace, turn-taking, and the mechanics of the dealing the tiles and the Charleston ● Rule Clarifications: Reviews of commonly forgotten mechanics, such as properly calling tiles, executing joker swaps, and identifying “dead hands”● Guided Gameplay: Real-time, hands-on practice in a relaxed, judgment-free zone to ask questions and receive feedback from a seasoned instructorWhether you are looking to brush up on strategy or ease back into the rhythm of the table, we offer this targeted session to get you playing comfortably. Players will need their own official 2026 NMJL playing card, available only through the National Mah Jongg League. The official NMJL card can be purchased from the instructor at the first class for $15.
