Woodcock Walks Guided by Michele Grzenda
Enter the realm of the incredible American woodcock. Learn about its unique mating dance and habitat requirements as we enjoy a beautiful spring sunset walk. We'll listen and look for the woodcock's flight with helpful hints from recordings, photographs, and a reading from Sand County Almanac. We'll hike at a gentle pace about a mile from the parking lot to the woodcock display area. Two dates.Note: Bring a pair of binoculars, flashlight, bug spray, and a field guide, if you have one. We'll go in light rain, so wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. Directions emailed to registered students.
