Fall Guided Walk: Mt. Misery Landscape & History


Nature: Birds, Bees and Guided Walks -
Fall 2024/Winter 2025

This guided walk will be led by Ron McAdow, author of Imaging the Past at Mount Misery. The group will walk 2.3 miles, including moderate gradients. Participants will learn about the colonial-era sawmill, the ice-age land-forms, the visits of Henry Thoreau, the ponds, and the Sudbury River.

Ron McAdow

Ron McAdow is an independent scholar.  A graduate of the University of Chicago, he has worked in various forms of education for forty years, including outdoor and classroom teaching, writing, and educational films and software. He has lived in eastern Massachusetts, and enjoyed learning about its cultural and natural history since 1971.  His published writing includes numerous books of nonfiction (including Imagining the Past at Mount Misery) and two novels.  Concord and Lincoln are his adopted hometowns.
