Join us to make beautiful three-dimension stars. These stars, which can be made in various sizes from 2” to 4, make wonderful tree ornaments or can be used in other displays. Moravian stars are well known throughout Scandinavia and Germany as well as other cultures. There are many stories about the origin of these stars, but regardless of their origin, they are fun to make! After some simple folding and weaving proficiency is acquired, making them can be relaxing and mesmerizing. Laura Sprung will demonstrate how to carefully fold strips of paper to create these beautiful stars.
Laura attributes her passion for crafting to early childhood days watching Captain Kangaroo work with shoe boxes, paper, string, scissors, and glue to create magnificent objects. All manner of crafting has remained an important part of her life over the years. She is mainly self taught, but has taken classes in bookbinding, handmade paper design, and needle art. Laura has taught paper crafts for many years at adult dance weeks and weekends in MA and NH. Additionally, she has hosted many “crafternoons” with friends, family, and neighbors. Her classes emphasize fun and community in addition to creativity.
