Pysanky Club: Explore Natural Dyes

Creative & Culinary Arts -
Spring 2026

This workshop offers an opportunity to learn the traditional art of Pysanky from a native Ukrainian while exploring the beauty of natural dyes. Using the wax-resist method with a "kistka," beeswax, and candle, participants will create intricate designs on real chicken eggs. You will experiment with natural dyes derived from spring flowers and berries and compare their muted, organic hues to vibrant aniline dyes.

Perfect for both beginners and experienced Pysanky creators, this class combines tradition with a touch of nature’s artistry. Emptied and cleaned chicken eggs and an assortment of dyes will be provided.

Children ages 6+ are welcome to attend when accompanied by an adult. . Minors must be registered with a registered parent/guardian.
