More and more, technology is a huge part of a student's school day. Whether the Google Suite for productivity (including Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Sites), Canva for design, WeVideo/Screencastify for recordings, or other tools for organization (Classroom, Schoology, Calendar, etc.), students are using a wide variety of technology tools for their everyday classwork and homework. This introductory class will help adults understand the basics of the tools used in schools and hopefully give some tips and tricks to make it easier for families to better support their students. Participants should bring a laptop or Chromebook for the class.
Howard has been a middle school teacher for the past 20 years and for the last 12 of those, a full-time Digital Learning Coach (someone who helps students and teachers use technology for teaching and learning). He has been officially trained on many of the tools and has integrated most of them into the classroom environment. He is also a parent of two children (one in Sudbury Public Schools and the other at LSRHS), and has worked with them on their school technology as well.
